For the entire community to enjoy, The OC will be transformed into a holiday winter wonderland. A giant 28’ holiday tree will light up the front of OC. Visitors will be greeted by a flurry of snowflakes hanging at the east and west entrances. A faux gingerbread house adorned with candy and frosting will create the perfect backdrop for a crafting center for little ones just outside of OC Jr. The Green Room will be transformed into Santa’s favorite space where he will make special appearances with Mrs. Claus for photos. When Santa is away, the winter wonderland can be reserved by photographers for photo sessions and events. Holiday concerts and performances are scheduled throughout the month by Forney ISD campuses and organizations. In addition to the ongoing community OC Engage classes and leagues, the Forney Education Foundation will hold its annual Antlers and Tutus Fun Run starting at Jackson Middle School and the Forney Legacy Project is hosting a holiday market for all the unique finds from near and afar. A free admission, double feature movie night will bring our families together to see “Home Alone” and “Elf” on the big arena screen. A feature of the month will include a concert by Shane & Shane, a Texas-based contemporary band known for acoustic praise and worship music. The band features Shane Barnard and Shane Everett who perform to sell-out audiences and will be making a stop at The OC on their Christmas Tour.
Shane and Shane will be joined by Forney ISD’s All City Choir, and will bring the holiday spirit to The OC for the entire family to enjoy. Prior to the concert, families will be invited for a special craft fair 5pm-7pm in addition to LIVE reindeer for pictures.
